When is Philadelphia Open Studio Tours?
Participating studios are open the first two weekends of October each year from 12 noon — 6pm
Can I be on the tour?
To register for POST you must be a professional visual artist with a studio in the
Philadelphia city limits. The registration typically starts on February 1, and there is a 10% discount for registrations received by March 1st.
I’m an artist who works out of my home. Can I participate?
Yes! Many artists open their home studios each year. Alternatively, you can share a friend’s studio space, but each participating artist must register individually.
Is POST a non-profit organization?
POST is a program of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists, which is a non-profit organization. In fact, POST relies on sponsorship and charitable contributions to cover two-thirds of its expenses.
Will images of my artwork be reproduced in the Artist Directory?
To keep registration fees low, POST does not reproduce images of artwork in the Artist Directory. A full-color image of your work will be posted on philaopenstudios.org along with a link to your website.
Can I apply to have my artwork on the cover of the POST Directory?
Selection of artwork for the cover isn’t a competition. Cover art is chosen to represent the diversity of work and workspaces involved with POST, and we leave layout and design to our graphic designer.
